Position Overview & Specifications

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Travel and Tourism Lecturer to join our team at an FE college based in South Essex. This is a part-time role, working Mondays and Tuesdays until the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering high-quality, engaging lectures to students enrolled in travel and tourism courses
  • Developing lesson plans, course materials, and assessments that meet the needs of a diverse student body
  • Providing academic and pastoral support to students, including one-on-one tutoring and guidance on coursework
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of new courses and programmes in travel and tourism
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and incorporating them into teaching and learning activities
  • Participating in college-wide activities, such as staff training, team meetings, and open days

Requirements:

  • A relevant degree in Travel and Tourism or a related subject
  • A recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or Cert Ed
  • Proven experience teaching travel and tourism courses at a further education level
  • A passion for teaching and inspiring students, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A strong commitment to student success and the ability to provide effective academic and pastoral support
  • Knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, including trends, regulations, and best practices
  • Experience working with a diverse student body, including those with additional learning needs
