Position Overview & Specifications

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Travel and Tourism Lecturer to join our team at an FE college based in South Essex. This is a part-time role, working Mondays and Tuesdays until the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering high-quality, engaging lectures to students enrolled in travel and tourism courses
Developing lesson plans, course materials, and assessments that meet the needs of a diverse student body
Providing academic and pastoral support to students, including one-on-one tutoring and guidance on coursework
Contributing to the development and delivery of new courses and programmes in travel and tourism
Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments, and incorporating them into teaching and learning activities
Participating in college-wide activities, such as staff training, team meetings, and open days

Requirements:

A relevant degree in Travel and Tourism or a related subject
A recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or Cert Ed
Proven experience teaching travel and tourism courses at a further education level
A passion for teaching and inspiring students, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A strong commitment to student success and the ability to provide effective academic and pastoral support
Knowledge of the travel and tourism industry, including trends, regulations, and best practices
Experience working with a diverse student body, including those with additional learning needs
